A Sculpture to honour late Senator Neville Bonner
Senator Neville Bonner AO was the first Australian Aboriginal to be elected to the Parliament of Australia by popular vote. and served the country for over 12 years.
He remained dedicated to serving Australia for many years and his tireless work was recognised posthumously when the Neville Bonner Memorial Scholarship was established by the federal government in 2000. It is now considered Australia’s most prestigious scholarship for Indigenous Australians to study.
Neville Bonner Bronze Bust
T. Wrafter & Sons had the honour of installing a bronze bust of the late Senator Bonner at Queensland’s Parliament House.
The bust was created by artist John Elliot and was installed into its position using a combination of engineering and stonemasonry techniques.
